Default Software problem?

Hi all,

I bought a EOS300D from a fellow CSer about a month ago and also a Tamron 18-200mm Aspherical Lens from another fellow CSer...

I found that the lens would sometimes have problems focusing and someone mentioned to me about the software in my 300D might need upgrading...

I'm totally lost!

Can someone advise what has to be done?

I think he meant the firmware for the camera. Since your problem is ocurring with a 3rd party lens the problem is most likely with lens. You may need to rechip it.

I using the same setup. The lens tend to hunt alot(and I meant really alot), its pretty normal, have to get used to it. Also, take note of the distance between subject and lens, I think min. focussing distance is 45cm.
