Default B&W film scanner.

What would be a good B&W scanner? intending to scan primarily B&W negatives to be later cropped and then print.

Can't find how much a Nikon Coolscan cost in Nikon forum, anyone with info on cost and availability? TIA.

Hi azul, I'm looking at the doing the same as you. But being held back by the prohibitive cost of Nikon's scanners.

The Coolscan V RRP is about 1300 according to their website... So I guess you can get it for lower in shops elsewhere.

Epson V700 good enough for showing on computer screen, or printing small, like below 8R.

Then concentrate on keeping negatives well, and if best quality is needed, print using traditional way ...
