Guys, I have a confession to make...
I BOUGHT THE E-410!!! Did some field tests with microcosm, and to put it simply - it was the best thousand plus bucks I've spent since I got my E-1. Will do a short field report in the following posts; microcosm will follow up on his views as well.

Then we headed down to Cafe f-stop and did a little bit of testing.
Sun was going down; perfect to test high-ISO image quality. (note: all images were RAW-converted jpegs at ISO 1600 and AWB with no additional PP. No further noise reduction done other than in-camera) ![]() High ISO Noise - Verdict: Massive improvement!

microcosm then put the AWB to the ultimate test: tungsten lighting.
He illuminated his cap with and did a close up: ![]() The TTL AWB is awesome, and despite ISO 1600 with in-cam NR, details were still preserved.

Next, I headed outside and did a C-AF test:
![]() The low-light AF capability and general AF speed is much improved. The C-AF tracks well despite the tough lighting conditions.

That's all on my end for now; I will attempt to put the E-410 through its paces during the weekend, but I will tell you this: I am ABSOLUTELY in LOVE with this little gem.
P.S. there were two E-410 kits left at MSC after I was done. Edit: Did I mention that the E-410 was just about the cutest camera I've ever seen?

Congrats on your new toy! ISO 1600 pics look really good! I'm holding out for the camera after the E-510....
Now, where's that damned E-whatever? ![]()

drakon09,
Congratulations! If those are E-410 images, how will the E-510 images look like ?So, what are you going to do with your E-1? Use it as paper weight or keep it as spare? Last edited by OlyFlyer; 28th April 2007 at 04:06 AM. |

Haha Flyer, the E-1 will still be active (the 410 can't go into the rain, and it is primarily for my significant other), but now I'm starting to dream about the P-1...
