I have received several request from members for sample shots taken from the Sigma 50-500mm aka Bigma. The last 2 photos were taken with EC-14.
Some comments : 1) Picture sharp up to 400mm. 2) Above 400mm, best to shoot between f/8 - f/11. Pros 1) Reach (1000mm equivalent) 2) Price (for the reach you're getting) Cons 1) Weight (you'll get used to it!) 2) Must use tripod. Handheld only with VERY good lighting. 3) Hunts a lot under low light. 4) AF slower than ZD50-200 + EC-14. 5) Can't wait for the E-510 with IS to be released ! E-500, ISO200, 1/2s, 500mm, f6.3. ![]() E-500, ISO200, 1.6s, 500mm, f11. ![]() E-500, ISO200, 1s, 708mm, f8.9. ![]() E-500, ISO200, 2s, 708mm, f14. ![]() |

For those interested in the Sigmas, MS will be hosting a Sigma roadshow on 1 May (news from Aunty Florence).
