hi just like to check does anyone own and use a MD/MC to AF Adaptor on their Sony/Minolta DSLR?
Did a search on CS... a few on other mounts but not MD to AF... Have some concerns about this... 1.Will it spoilt (or scratch) the contact pins at the mount? 2.Not sure whether it is secure a not? (heard stories about the adapter drop off )3.sharpness and clarity decrease a lot or just a bit? thanks! |

Hi...
I've used thin MD-AF adapter (1.2X teleconverter). 1. No 2. Secure, no problem... 3. Yes, it will affect image quality; especially if the lens is used wide open. But if you stop down the lens 1-2 stop, it should not affect much. There is also original Minolta MD-AF adapter. Two types: S (for short lens) and L (for long lens). This adapter is built based on the Minolta 2X teleconverter for MC/MD lens. Glass quality said to be much better than third party one, but it is also 2X teleconverter. |

1. Don't think so. 2. Quite secure. 3. sharpness does decrease quite some at wide open, stop down will be better. Crop factor increased.

Not really Bro...
Check the latest discussion on Dyxum. Pete Ganzel test it and the performance is not much better than other brand thin adapter. http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/forum_po...TID=14354&PN=1 Last edited by d4nie; 26th April 2007 at 08:41 PM. |

$100 to $130 is about right. tha haoda version costs more, apparently that one is true 1:1 with no distortion... i have the "normal" pre-Haoda adapter

Wow... congrats on the purchase
I guess it's difficult to hide that big lens ![]() Nope... Haoda version is the same like any other brand thin adapter. Magnification is the same 1.2X. Haoda's claim is proven to be wrong by all who test/ using it. Please check the link in Dyxum i posted above. Last edited by d4nie; 27th April 2007 at 02:14 PM. |

just as well i didn't buy into it. i don't have time to finish the bellows mod i started last year, so was thinking of shortcut to use 2 of these adapters. thanks for the heads-up bro, i'll just settle for one of the cheaper versions from HK since there's no diff.
