Pentax Lenses on eBay skyrocketing

With more people joining the Pentax bandwagon, the prices for Pentax lenses seem to have gone up very dramatically. Shock and horror!!!! Just look at some items that caught my eye:

It's good (if you are selling) and bad (if you are buying)

. To me, I just regret that I sold some lenses too early

with the K10D and K100D, the demand may have increased somewhat but I think prices in ebay remain decent and mostly affordable. in some cases, 2 identical items can be sold at very huge difference in price. The key is whether someone who really wants the item is bidding with you at that exact moment...

It's not that prices have definitely crept up, but the number of Pentax items getting snapped up quickly by aggressive bidders. It's like many people chasing for a gradually fewer pool of items.

It was pretty easy to pick up say a 135 f3.5 or 200 f4 M lens cheap below US$50 but now there are fewer being listed and the start bid and final bid prices for them have gone up. A 28mm f2.8 A lens that could be picked up just below US$100 last year but this year, but now bids have shot beyond US$120. Just take a look at teleconvertors and you see prices going up as well.

I would put the variation in price to differing condition of the item, number of similar items listed and whether the seller accepts worldwide bids. Noticed quite a number of bidders from South Korea too (Samsung factor).

And FA 85mm soft-focus? Or the lens got problem? :S

PS - But seriously, I think I got buy stuff from that torontosuplus shop before.... :P
