Default SpeedLight

Anyone know which model of speedlight is build to work best with coolpix? like automatic power zoom changes the zoom-head position incrementally to match the lens focal length.

None of the Coolpixes are able to use the full features of the Speedlights, unfortunately. So you just get plain jane TTL. Nothing more.

Well, not all Coolpixes can use external flash mar. SB30 is a very basic flash, might as well use the internal flash. It's more useful for people who want a small flash on their SLR for fill-in, etc.

none of the current coolpix can zoom the flash zoom head, use the AF assist of Nikon flash guns.

SB-30 doesn't have zoom head. I would say it's a nice and small ext flash to be carried ard during travel.
