The light is good but the composition appears lopsided. Try panning left to add more buildings on the horizon.

Good timing, no boat to cause trailing light and waves, nice sky colour. But at this time most people will be sleeping, so not much window lights.

It was taken about 6:30 a.m. Not too long after, the Merlion start to spout water and the reflections are gone.

it's a nice shot. I knit pick when I say that I would have wished the waters were even calmer as I would have liked the reflections even sharper. What was the shutter speed?

good photo that took quite some effort if not patiance?

I like the colour tone. Funny thing is your title says esplanade but esplanade is not in view at all! It would be better to shift slightly to the left without the bridge (not sure if you could take the esplanade unless you missed the Singapore Flyer).

You cannot expect better reflection, this time you took is the transition from low tide to high tide which is the most ideal situation (especially taken in the morning) without the boats and water ripple.

Overall a good shot but still have room for improvement. I have similar shots in my website but taken at a different angle and perspective.

Hmm ... probably the aperture wasn't small enough ... taken at 20s F/5.6

Guess I kept having the general idea that the whole area is considered as Esplanade. Right, probably should be Marina Bay or something. Hey, the pics you took are great, very sharp reflections over the waters!

Does it mean Merlion is not spouting water during midnight? Please enlighten

But the reflections on the water are very clear still! Clear and unblocked by the bridge near the Merlion.

The last pic of the esplanade has good composition. Try metering off the blue dawn sky and recompose. It might solve the underexposure.

sentinel_006, dun mind if i share my view?

i've not tried taking a shot from this side but i thought the ferris wheel might look great if let it be a solitary subject (not sure if the fullerton etc will show up on the right or not)

but overall it's quite refreshing as we seldom see the esplanade "devoid" of movement - of people and water

more pls
