Decided to start a thread for all my recent butterflies shots.

It will only be butterflies and nothing else...

What was the gear used and yes, where did you go? I'm looking for sites to get some decent butterfly shots.

Thanks you for viewing and glad you like them.

These butterflies are captured at Urban Parks and the Central Catchment Forest Reserves like :

Alexandra Butterfly Trail,

Upper and lower Pierce Reservoir Parks ,

Bukit Timah Nature Reserves

Upper and Lower Seletar Reservoir,

Bukit Batok Nature Park,

Telok Blanga Hill Park

Mount Faber,

Marina South Park,

Pulau Ubin

Presently, I am using a Canon 20D + Tamron 180mm Macro lens and using 580 EX as fill flash. Generally, I handhold most of my shots and occasionally use a monopod when the opportunity present itself, as butterflies are very flitting and you are unlikely to have the luxury of setting up your tripod.

Nice series Blue steel! My favourite is the Lime Butterfly shot, it should be hanging on a wall.
