If the room has zero reception to begin with, no antenna can help you.

You may test this with handphone reception, i.e. no reception for handphone = no reception for radio.

If that is the case your only option is to set up your antenna outside, connect an RF cable and run it to the room.

Then there may be a GSM repeater at your workplace.

If your FM radio has *absolutely* no reception I doubt that an active antenna will help.

The simplest and cheapest method is to get any kind of household electrical wire, strip the ends, wrap it around the radio antennae (assuming got extarnal extendable type) and run that wire to a window. Wrap the other (stripped) end of the wire to the metal window frame, or simply attach to any kind of conductive metal and hang it out the window.

take a wire, hook onto any raillings outside the room, conceal it then lay it into the room, then coil the excess cable on the mobile fone or radio... sure work, maybe even more powerful... best if can coil around a base satelite then drag to the room... hahahaha... else also can plug to earth... the 'safest' and biggest antenna in vincinity...

well, in theory, your entire ground layout in the building is like a super duper big antenna line.

I think his work place is pretty similar to mine, except mine even blocks out GSM signals.

We were contemplating drilling a hole in the ceiling and pushing up an antenna... but that would compromise structural integrity... and would seriously piss off the commander...

think yours have a jammer somewhere, time to go find where the jammer is then disable it...

    [Beep beep]

Solid Snake (MGS Fame) paging for Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell fame)... time to go espionage...

    Mission Objective -
    Find and Disable Jammer

    Mission Failure -
Caught by enemy when disabling Jammer
Everyone finds out they can use their handfone...

    hence

    Mission Bonus Objective
    Find and Secure Auxilliary Jammer
Install Auxilliary Jammer to Jam all other frequency
