Sorry for asking this stupid question cos I noticed lately there were quite a few D200 for sales in the Buy & Sell folder. Most of them are selling for about $2000 +/- and shutter count of 5000 - 7000.
Thought D200 is a good camera and people who bought it are those who upgraded from the D70 or D70s. But how come selling the camera off so soon?? Just wondering. ![]() |

Megapixel doesn't matter. People find the colors from S5pro amazing, perhaps.

Hmm..U noticed that too huh..? Oh..I forgot to mentioned..There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with tis fantastic camera. It produces good colors, a well balance machine in many aspects.. I used it for some of my assignments in the field..Tough piece of "****".. A satisfied owner who owns and uses it to the max....! Shutter count is over 20K in just under 11 months !! Any camera that can survive with me in the sub-zero mountains of bhutan and survive a trip down a white water raft ride and still take fantastie photos is a winner in my books.
Do note that many just buy cameras for bragging rights rather than because they truly love the art. For these, they are jumping on what they think is the next best thing rather than making the most of the tool that they have to advance their photography skills. Pity. The D200 is a gem, but you know what they say about pearls before swine...

sigh... i agree that D200 is really one workhorse just by comparing specs.
im torn between D80 and D200, to upgrade from D50, just because I need to megapixels to do editing and ISO to do low light shooting, so D80 shd juz suffice, furthermore, im attracted to the fact that i retain my SD cards, ML-L3 and more shoots out of the EN-EL3e. But corner of my mind, a wrong thought always crawl up on me.... that with D200 more sak ki (pride). Reality is, I not skilled, got good body also no use. Dun want to be a bragger, I just want to fulfill my photo-taking enjoyment. ![]() |

I dont understand why every now and then there are people taking a dig at people who are selling their equipment and go on to buy new ones..There isnt anything wrong with that..and as someone pointed out..this will only benefit the 2nd hand market with excellent second hand prices..
arent many d200 users previous owners of another dslr or slr? why switch to d200 if the cam is just a tool and your previous cam was still working? |

to me D200 is like the best thing ever. Works wonders. Great leap from my D70. Esp with my current lens. :P Also i think the reason y alot of people is selling is, alot of people buy D200 in the first place. And some people upgrade their equipments between 1 year to 2. D200 is coming 2 years already? Since launch. It would be interesting to make a poll for the whole CS to see what's the percentage of D200 owners here. I have a feeling D200 owners could be one of the majority?

I doubt the S5Pro color or whatever is better than D200...
