MC-30 if you can get one is a good alternative (much cheaper too)
else you can consider 3rd party ones. ![]() |

Hi, I am using a MC36 with my D200. has lots of features and a cool LCD screen to time your exposures and a built in intervalometer to take a sequence of shots over time.
What I found (only after buying the MC36) is that many of these functions (eg. intervalometer) are already available in camera for the D200, so there is no real need for such a complex remote unless you need to monitor the time of exposure on the LCD or you are using a simpler DSLR. The MC36 is also quite bulky for a remote. So my comment, with the benefit of hindsight, is to settle for a simple remote like the ML-3 and use the built in intervalometer in your D200 if you need to take multiple sequential photos. For me, I console myself with the wow factor that the MC36 remote creates when I use it, but frankly not much practical advantage if you have the D200.
