Hey guys,
Just wanted to check with you, did your lens come with international warranty or US local warranty, or a limited tourist warranty? Why I am asking this is because I called up Sony Singapore last week after toying with the idea of ordering from Amazon / BH / Adorama, the reply I got from them is unless the lens is purchased locally, there won't be any warranty unless it is officially imported for Singapore (i.e. with singapore warranty card). Exception is limited tourist warranty but I didn't bother to find out how that works. For a $1k+ lens, I think that is absolute BS therefore would like to check with buyers here... BTW, a quick check with Mr Seah shows that the cost for repair for the "wobbly" lens element problem encountered on many 16-80mm right now is $80, in case anyone is interested. |

Thanks bro... quite sad about this... Minolta used to give international warranty...
Sigh... apparent only Sony Vaio's get international support... they think we won't bring cameras overseas??? ![]() |

So now the question is, who is willing to pay about $400 more for 1 year warranty?
![]() If small defects, maybe you can just live with or fix cheaply... if for example a scratched rear element, then cry liao... ![]() Last edited by drake336; 16th April 2007 at 12:47 AM. |
