    What's the point of making a good lens(assuming it is) and only 700 of them?

    No I can't read Jap but its not difficult to figure it out. There's a bit of Mandarin.

    Minolta G lens cost a bomb.

    Nikkor G lens comes without aperture ring. For the initial G lens offerings , the lens body feels like plastic but the glass optics is top notch. The recently announced G lenses will no doubt be of better built quality.
