Default How to creat an animated video clip?

If I want to creat a short video clip of a computer mouse moving around a mouse pad without showing the human hand, how do I go around producing it and what hardware and software do I need?

I haven't done this thing before. Thanks for the help.

Does it have to be smooth?

If not, just take a few photos of the mouse.. And then use layers in PS to do some GIF thing.

Don't know if that's what you want, or if you must really have some video clip format.

Can u empty out a mouse from the bottom (so that only the top shell is left), put a piece of magnet inside, place it on a non-metallic mouse pad and move it around from underneath with another magnet? The u can just video it the normal way. Would this be less work than taking many many shots of the mouse and piecing it together in software?

use very fine thread and stick it to the mouse and move it like a puppet.

remind of those old kungfu movie where qing gong all can fly one.

For better comedic effect, use a real mouse

There's a technique called 'stop motion animation'. Basically, you have to think in 'video mode'. Decide how long (length of time) will your whole clip be, and for each second, capture 12 pictures (12 photos instead of 24, for convenience sake. You can use your cam for that, but fix it onto a tripod, so that the camera doesn't move when you capture those pictures). While taking that 12 pictures/second, move the position of your mouse slightly, slowly towards the direction of where you want in to end up. For example, if you judged that the mouse needs 3 seconds to move from point A to B, there will be a total of 36 pictures captured, and the pictures should show the mouse slowly moving to the destination. Hope you understand what I wrote.

After taking all the pictures, import everything into a video editing software, piece up photo no.1 all the way to the last photo, and make sure each picture is repeated twice, so as to form 24 frames/second. Export the whole thing as a video clip.

Oh, remember to use manual mode or lock your exposure =)
