Default NEF rotating problems?

Hi! I read this notice that came with my D100 package that states something about problems of los of data being caused if u rotate NEF files in Win XP.

just wanna ask if the problem only happens when you use the Windows XP viewers? whethr it happens ONLY in win xp? meaning if i rotate in Nikon View its ok rite?

Hey vince
I've rotated NEF's in XP with no probs. anyone noticed anything amist before? or is this just one of those 'caution it might happen to you...if you are unlucky enought' notes!!

I think the note says not to rotate NEFs using the WIndows' Viewer or WIndows Explorer, and saying that if you do that, you may lose image data such as the aperture/shutter speed etc shooting data. I have not tried yet until i can confirm form you all wat is the case hehe :P

yup, you lose exif info if you rotate nef with window's native viewer
