Dear Fellow 4/3 Community Members,
With the kind support from Olympus Imaging Singapore, Mytikas has just secured a simple preview session of their latest & much anticipated DSLRs. Due to space constrains, we have a cap of 15 to work at. We would like to open this event to our brotherly 4/3 community @ CS as well as Mytikas. If your time avails & you wish to see how the cams stack up, do sign up & meet up :-) Details & Sign Up Link@Mytikas Cheers, |

Hi chancy... many thanks for opening the invite to the folks over here in CS. Grateful for the community spirit! Alas, I am overseas and therefore I will miss it... when will the E-410 be released? And are they the working/production models? Can the participants bring their own CF card to test shoot the cameras? I believe those who are going would like to know.

Hello Microcosm,
You're welcome :-) I followed up on your enquiries with Olympus and I'm told #1 - Both cameras are near-production models, which I deduce may be similar to that reviewed by dpnow. #2 - With apologies, nice as the image quality of samples on the Net, the policy here (from OlyJP) is no on-site shots on personal CF cards. Still I hope that won't be a turn off for those attending ;-) Hope this clarifies. Cheers,

Hi chancy
Thank you for clarifying this. I believe that the opportunity to be the first few to touch and feel and have a play with the new cameras is in itself a draw to attend this invite. Hope everyone have fun meeting up at this event. And take loads of event pictures and post them ok? Have a good outing, all those who are attending. Enjoy. |

Can some help me to inquire when the new lens are coming out and whether there will be any price revisions for lens ![]() And when the 510 is coming out in singapore ![]() |

I also very interested in the release date for the 12-60 and whether it is a replacement for the 11-22 and 14-54. Really curious about how oly tends to market this 12-60 lens. Whether they will price it as a premium and keep the 11-22mm and 14-54mm or replace the 14-54 with the 12-60. |

Looks like we have to wait for the pro body for the 12-60 lens. Think it is meant to replace 14-54 as a new pro-body kit lens.

I'm also interested in the new ZD 12-60mm but I think this new lens has a filter thread mount of 72mm. If I want to have it, I'll have to get new CP filter, GD ND filters etc... I like to take shots of landscapes/scenery, so these are essential filters for me...
![]() Anyhow, have fun at the exclusive hands-on of the E-410 and E-510, wish I could join you guys... Have a great weekend!!

All the new SG and HG lenses have the composite silver and blue line.
The SHG lenses have the THICK platinum line... ![]()

nice one... this means the new lens will be lighter and affordable. The Plats are just too heavy for me.

I was referring to the pics of the new lenses available on the net, not of the preview.

I went back to the thread provided by NMSS. the new lens are already on it plus the price.
They even quoted the price for the 70-300 @ £399.99

UK prices are crazy; US prices will be a better gauge as SG prices are normally 20% higher than the US prices.
