Default Using third party ink for Canon

hi... would like to know if there anyone using third party ink for canon 6 and 8 series reservoir type of ink for printers like i9950 and ip4200 series.. Ex : BCI-6bk, BCI-8bk.

Will the third party ink make the print head clog ? has anyone successfully used it for the long run.

Me currently looking for cheaper alternatives of using these printers wonder if there is any.. Heard that if the print head is spoilt then it will be very expensive to replace one.

There is only compatible cartridges for BCI-6BK series but not the 8 series.

You can try the brand "MAXTEC" for your compatible cartridges.

cheers

Have always been using Canon and years ago, and used to buy 3rd party inks. They are alot cheaper and seem reasonably good. But heard alot abt how they spoil the printer heads and so I now use the originals. Cost more but great quality!

I have tried the Inkstation inks and honestly they are terrible. The heads kept clogging and horizontal lines kept appearing. Even if they print properly, the inks fade easily. I had some photographs printed about a year ago that were placed in my bedrooms and the colours turned lighter and lighter whereas prints made with the original Canon inks still good as good as the day they were printed. Guess what. I strip off the Inkstation device and discarded everything. However, damage had already been done to the printer and when I reverted to original Canon cartridges, I could never get it to work properly again. I WILL NEVER EVER TRY THIRD PARTY INKS AGAIN.
