Default Sepang Formula1 GP - 1st corner view of the start of the race...

Made a last minute decision to go to Sepang. Got tickets at K1 Gold grandstand. Got seats in the front rows. Didn't expect a fantastic view but was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this grandstand to anyone who wants to watch the race LIVE and/or wants to shoot the cars from close quarters.

Here's a montage of the start of the race... it was delight for all the McLaren supporters.

Massa made three mistakes here.
First of all, he wasn't fast off the blocks (Kimi too wasn't fast enough). Secondly, he didn't close the door and let Hamilton squeeze in on the inside. Finally, since he went on the outside, Kimi had to go further off the track to avoid banging into Massa. The race was kinda settled at this point. At the next corner Hamilton consolidated on his move at the 1st corner and went past Massa.

With Hamilton busy fending off the Ferraris, Alonso built up a nice lead.
Two laps later, Massa tried a move on the outside of Hamilton. We, Ferrari supporters, were thrilled. However, this was the closest Massa could get to Hamilton.

Soon after, we saw in the screen opposite, Massa sliding off the track onto the grass and our faces became long

We hoped for a Ferrari 1-2, instead we got a McLaren 1-2
The driver who impressed me most in this race was Hamilton. Very cool drive for an F1 rookie.

Soon it was Kimi chasing after Hamilton

and Massa chasing after Heidfeld

that's it for now...

Thanks for sharing.
Nice shots there

No doubt K1 is the best place to view the race but the cost of the tickets is so....

Nice pixs

Interesting, Alonso made fantastics starts off the block in the Renault, and now the Mclaren. It definitely the driver. Hamilton drives like a vateran. Give him a couple of season and we can expect to see sparks in Mclaren if they both stay. He is definitely pushing Alonso harder than Fisi

Massa too many mistakes, he went wide in the start, should have taken a more defensive line. Neither Kimi had the pace. Suspect the Ferrari engine was limited in revs to bring the car home. A defensive to limit damage and take 11 points home.

Heifield & Fisi did a great job.

Yeah, you said it bro !!!
Alonso is the driver to beat. He took to the McLaren as though he's been born with it
The more I think of Hamilton, the more impressed I get. If he plays it right, he will soon be the new star of F1.
Massa can never be another Schumi, so can't expect too much.
Kimi has the speed and the calibre, but maybe suffers from bad luck. It was so disappointing to see Ferrari struggling with pace. Out at the circuit, unless you have a radio, you just keep guessing what could be wrong - is it the tyres or the fuel strategy or a problem with the engine.
For me it was a boring race. But overall, it was a near perfect race - no accidents, not too many retirements.
Will post some closeup shots of the cars later tonight. All my panning shots are quite bad. Need more practice.
