Default X-Drive II...

Hey, I got a X-Drive II from Funan today.

It is really small and I think that it is better designed than the X-Drive. Now, there is a LCD screen to show you what you are doing when operating this external device.

I am planning to take it on a outdoor shoot this weekend. Would update on how the performance is like.

How much did you pay for your new x-drive? Also, any idea how much does a 20 gig / 40 gig HDD cost now? Thanks for your time.

Hi,

we have 10 units of the X-Drive II coming next week. Unlike parallel imports. Our X-Drive II package comes with the car charger, original carry bag with "X-Drive II" logo, lightweight universal AC adaptor, 14 days "1 for 1" exchange and 1 year local servicing and warranty.

To place order, goto:

Hope u can help narrow down my search in Funan... which outlet, tel.no, and what's in your package?

Most importantly, how much?

I tried it on a SM-128MB (approx. 2 min) and CF-256MB (approx < 3/4 min). Very satisfied with the performance.

btw...I am running on a 5400rpm hdd. Not sure if the performance on a 4200rpm will make much difference?

I paid S$199 for mine at a SLS store and $245 for a 40GB hdd (5400rpm).

Checkout http://www.hardwarezone.com/pricegui...tryid=1&cid=85 for the latest indication on hdd prices

Time taken to transfer 512MB and taking all 487MB (after formatting) in RAW format will take an approximately 7 mins 54 Seconds.

I have a 20GB Fujitsu Hard disk connected to the X-Drive...

I would have to say that Nutcase bought it at a cheaper price than me.

I paid $219 for the case and $150 for the hard disk.

Where I got my X-Drive II is at Funan Centre on the 4th Floor.

The name of the shop is called InforComm. It is located near to the escalators that are going up to the 5th floor.

I guess my philosophy is that as long as I am able to transfer my images into a hard disk type of device like the X-Drive II, I am very much satisfied with the product.

After all, buying a X-Drive tpye of device is meant to dump images so that one doesn't have to constantly buy memory cards. Although I would have to admit that my dream memory card would be a Lexar Media 24X 1GB WA Compact Flash Type II card.

I guess to have something like that would already be considered as over kill...
