    'I had applied for a scholarship in Malaysia but could not get it, yet I could get one (NUS)from Singapore without even applying,'

    If I known, I shouldn't apply to do my masters in NUS... they might give me a scholarship directly.

    Nothing against the FT... I'm juz fired up by the comment.

    It's the comment and not the race / nationality that really got me "argghh."
    Maybe to "them", Singapore's education must be very cheapskate.

    Don't forget, sometimes people are quoted out of context.

    And selectively quoted. =) To be fair, most of the Malaysian scholars I know are pretty humble and funky people!
