Even my eyes cant seem to see those color effect.
They are great shots, but seems over aesthetic. Looks more like paintings. ![]() Last edited by ryuggen; 9th April 2007 at 12:00 AM. |

Hello bros =)
I think his shots have nice colours and stuff but I disagree that it is a perfect use of HDR. Personally, I find the HDR quite sloppily done for most of the pics. Notice that there are HUGE halos around darker subjects which are not present in more normal pics. He's overdoing the tone mapping big time. I think that HDR should look natural and should be indistinguishable from normal pics, and his photos don't work for me. No offence meant, Mr Cheong. Just expressing my view =) Cheers QX |

Agree with you on this. Now a days seem to see more "overdone HDR" that end up like in the gallery, with color being pushed and "halos fiesta". But looks like no one cares, as long as it's pleasing to the viewer..... it's great and that in turns sell the image (if he is selling it).

Note that I said "Perfect USE of HDR", not "Perfect HDR". Point is, he's used HDR to create pictures that are beautiful and very pleasing to the eye, even if they're obviously unnatural. Perfect HDR would make the scene look very natural. In this case, he used HDR like a paintbrush, and it works. ![]() |

Yes, I agree.. The pics are very nice, but very unnatural.

I have been observing Daniel's photos for a while in Flickr.. he is one of my contact.
Overall, he got good photographer eyes.. Without HDR, his photos are still nice.. with HDR.. it makes them .. err nicer ![]() |
