Default AF Zoom-Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6D IF

Anyone use or own this lens?.....thinking of getting it as a general purpose outdoor lens for my use...any comments or advice on this lense?

hmm ... my first lens for my photography ... it's a mutli purpose lens ... i use it for sch concert and also for outdoor ... the lens is great in term of zoom range n pics quality ~ well the main drawback is that it is a slowwwwwwwwwwwww lens ... and i mean it ....

I read that this lens is not made by nikon themselves..

Done by a certain 3rd party len..

Anyone can confirm?

This lens not cheap...more than S$1k I think.

If want a 28-200mm range, I would rather go for the 1 million proven Tamron version.

i bought the nikon 28-200 fr $850 at cathay w/o GST some 2 yrs ago though ...

cathy quote me $745 a few days ago....and i have no plans to buy any more lens soon after this one....not after i'm 'done' with it anyway

if you are going to spend $745 on this, you will be better off getting a better lens at that price or getting the Tamron 28-200XR which only costs less than half of it, ie $350. By getting Nikon, you extinguished one fo the advantages of 28-200s, ie that its cheap n value for the price.

at $745, u'd prob be better off getting one of those "proper" lenses hehe.

Just to inform you guys... there will be a revised version of this 28-200, coming out at the same time with the 24-120 AF-S G VR....
