4/3 System Kopi Session Part II

It was a great time we spent this evening, and almost everyone agreed that we should be meeting up more often, and so here it is, part II of the 4/3 Kopi Session.

For the benefit of everyone, this next gathering we will talk more about functions of the camera system as I felt that there are those of you who were shy to ask questions, and therefore we will start covering topics from camera settings, and choice of lenses. (Starting with kit lens, not those bazookas!) I believe we shall go textbook too, as I will try to bring down one photography book to pass around and loan out. (Trusting that it will eventually be returned to me).

This will help me a lot and all other 4/3 user here in singapore, i have my e500 for 7 months and I still feel like I haven't utilized it's full potential, cheers for the person(s) who started this.

by the way i have some few friends who are also using 4/3 system but are not member of clubsnap yet, can they come too?

(I can't remember if I posted this regarding the last meet.)

You guys should try to get your local Olympus rep involved...last year MyFourThirds had an international meet in Toronto and not only had a small gallery involved where they had pictures taken by Olympus E-system cameras hung, but they also convinved Olympus to bring the whole line of 4/3 lenses for us to try, and even borrow for a week. As well, the Olympus rep answered questions from us including local issues like lack of marketing in North America.

When the local reps arrive, they usually get hung and their bodies dragged around town.

Just kidding. Honestly my friend, there is no need for the Oly reps to get involve unless they are really going to show us something WE DON'T ALREADY OWN. If you have followed the threads on service issues and stuff, you should know the difference between the Oly staff here and over at your side. Enough said? Moreover, we only currently need to touch on the basics for the beginners and new users of the system. There are some basic issues that needs to be addressed like relearning the perspective "control" because the 4/3 lens does not behave exactly like their 35mm cousins. And things like that. And some basic things like "deciphering the manual" for those who are not technically inclined.

That said... Oly Folks, you bringing the new E-410 and E-510 for the group to test? I know you guys are reading this.

Just to thank the organizers from an informative, insightful & engaging gathering. The mods on 4/3 are a dedicated & enthusiastic lot, it was wonderful to hear of their experiences and plans for the 4/3 community.

Mytikas is thankful for the invitation and surely the many to come :-)
