Hi Fellow CSer,
I'm a newbie here and I just need some opinion whether to go for a third party battery grip or buy the original one. The price of the 3rd party is almost half the price of the original one, But I like to know what are the chances that a 3rd party grip may damage my camera. I came across one shop here in SG that is selling one for canon 350d and when I looked at it, it's exactly the same as the canon one. I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this question. My apologies ![]() |

Hi ihub88
Actually I'm not sure if there is a risk, as you can see in my first post I asked if there are any chances of damaging my cam. I just think that if 3rd party lenses doesn't damage my cam, how can a battery grip? ![]() |

IMHO there is next to no risk involved with 3rd party grips, ie the Opteka. However, I'd suggest getting the original BG-E3 because you'll minimise occurence of Err99 that may occur with a 3rd party grip.
