24mm-85mm IF 2.8-4 D lens or AFS 24mm-85mm ED 3.5-5.6 G lens
Which is a better buy? |

... or you could wait and see what the new AF-S VR 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED will be like which should be out in the next month or so. Last edited by james m; 13th April 2003 at 01:05 PM. |

If you have one of the current Nikon bodies that support the AFS and G functions of the lens then you should get the AFS24-85. It's fast and silent and very well priced. Optics is good too. I personally use the AFS 24-85 on a F90X. I'm stuck w/o Aperture Priority though which can be a pain but the newer bodies will work perfectly. |

Go for the 24mm-85mm IF 2.8-4 D. The G version a bit soft in 85mm.
