My equipment as follows
1. 350D + battery grip 2. 17-40mm F4L + Hood 3. 70-200mm F4L + Hood 4. 28-135mm IS 5. 1.4x Extender 6. 420 Flash 7. Backup camera G3 8. Creative Zen Vision 9. Laptop (15" wide screen) Intent usage of the camera and laptop bag is more of convenience of checking in as hand luggage so that I don't have to carry 2 bags with me (current setup a camera bag and a laptop bag). Can someone recommends me a good combo bag with sufficient storage space for above and also some other additional items like clothing? |

crumpler's karachi outpost or maybe the whisky and cox might fit your requirements (clothings got no other space though)
might want to try out crumpler's sinking / customary barge.. both probably have enough space for your equipment (without attaching the lens) and maybe space for a shirt or 2.. ![]() |

Thanks. Any other brand that can be recommended? US250 is quite expensive.

For your setup, I suggest you take a look at the Lowepro Compudaypack.
Check http://www.cambags.com for user reviews of this bag. The only thing is that you will have to keep the 70-200mm in the top compartment. The bottom half can easily hold body+28-135mm lens, the 17-40 lens and the extender. The flash, your backup camera will have to go to the top section of the bag. The main drawback that I felt with this bag was that there was no waist support belt. If you load your bag with so much gear, you should have a facility to take some load off your shoulders. You can go to Cathay Photo and take a look. That's the best way to ensure that you will be comfortable with the setup. If I am not wrong, the CompuDaypack costs around 85-90 bucks.

CompudayPack is too small to fit in my laptop.
The only one that can meet my requirement is CompuRover AW. However, the cost of 200 is a bit too steep. Looks like I have to look for alternative. Thanks all for the reply. |

If a carry-on bag is what you're looking for then I'd recommend the stealth reporter series. I carried on my stealth reporter 650aw loaded with my laptop, adapters, mouse, 2 camera bodies, 5 lenses, flash, cleaning kit, spare batteries, spare film rolls, mp3 player, reading book, notepad, pencil case and the list goes on and on.
It just swallows up everything I care to throw in there. Size is legal for carry-on, the only thing you have to worry about at that point is the weight limit but imho if you don't look like you're having trouble carrying the bag, chances are the flight personnels will leave you alone. |

Hi pal,
If u wan a sling bag, U might consider buying a Crumpler Brazillion Dollar home. http://www.crumpler.com.au/Cart/index.php?catId=22 Have just gotten my hand on one.. hehehe The shop asistant at Wheel lock place told mi on sunday its their first one and just arrived from Australia. Saw him took out from the store room. There wasnt any on display yet. It wasnt even featured in the local site yet. Its a Massive bag where u can throw just abt everything in, including a tripod. Comes with a Rain Jacket too. Very flexiable storage compartments as u can arrange them using the provided inserts. Oh they give u alot more extra insert (lots of them) too. I paid SGD275 for it. (If i rem correctly cos i top up 110+ for exchanging a 7 million dollar home to the brazillion ) Hope this helps Cheers TD Last edited by Tamedriver; 5th April 2007 at 11:01 AM. Reason: Typo |

You might want to try the National Geographic NG5162 backpack. Fits quite a bit of gear plus my 14" Ibook nicely. It also has another compartment for barang barang. As a further plus, it looks pretty stylish for a camera bag too.

If u want to see the range, there are a couple of crumpler shops, all in the city..
Wheelok Place 2nd Level Paragon 3rd (or 4th, i can't remember) level Raffles City B1 if u want to buy, i suggest going to TK Foto.. prices there are slightly lower compared to the crumpler shops, which are all fixed...

Hi Slooker_02,
Hope I can contribute to your search for the ultimate backpack. Personally, I'm using the Lowepro Computrekker. Based on my past research, you can also consider the Tamrac backpacks (can't remember the series through... starts with 6XXX or something like that). This is what I've been able to fit into my Computrekker: 20D (w/ vert grip), 17-40f4, 70-200f2.8, 400f5.6, 550ex, 1.4x & 2x TCs, batts, CF card, utility tool, maglite, dell d610. After all this, there's still space in the front for a thin sweater, leather gloves, frommer's travel guid and a small water bottle. Believe this suffices... 1 word of caution though... it's gonna get heavy so watch your back yah! Enjoy! |
