Came across this item for sale. (its already sold).
But curious that such a long focal length actually has a maximum aperture of f/1.4! At telephoto objects would be dim but now with a fast lens, would they cancel each other out? Anyone has experience with such fast and long lenses? ![]() http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/i:Ca...00mm:112478333 |

it's not f/1.4, it's 1:4
, which mean f/4.0.200mm f/1.4 will have a huge front element ![]()

Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert! Pentaxian knights, please report to respective stations. Assemble your arsenal of equipment to overwhelm the intruder with unforgettable experiences... To our dear 'intruder': You have been surrounded by us. Surrender to sweet memories of good old Pentax. You know the saying... "If you can't beat them, join them!"
![]() By the way, user111, it is my understanding that Pentax co-developed the coating technology with Zeiss during the late 1960s to early 1970s. It's called SMC (Super Multi Coated) in Pentax, T* in Zeiss (the "T" stands for "Tranzparenz belag", or "Transparent lining")... http://www.prairienet.org/b-wallen/B...ryCoatings.htm This is why Pentax lenses are well-sought after for their SMC fame.

Talking about coatings, had a short power-out in my place a few days ago. So decided to take a candlelit shot with my K100D and 16-45. Here is a shot with a Hoya HMC UV filter (notice ugly green flare, ugh!!!)
![]() Here is the shot without filter ![]() Best results = no filter |
