just went to pick a product at pansonic service center.
i must agree that they produce very good camcorder. one thing, that panasonic is not good at is customer service. i got to wait for 15mins plus just to get my call answer. when i finally get though i realised that my item was ready for collection and i was not even inform. i think pansonic should look into their after sale service. Make people think twice about buying their product. hope they can separate their customer service for professional and consumer. Last edited by samvision; 3rd April 2007 at 01:03 AM. |

So far I had no problem with Sony service centre at Wisma Atria. I sent my camera there twice and got my camera back in a few days. I think there service centre is pretty good.

My experience with Sony Professional is far less positive. I sent a PD 170 in for replacement of an audio part and it took over 6 weeks for them to get it fixed because they did not have the part and had to wait for it to be shipped over. Apparently there have been others who've had to wait longer than me when parts are unavailable. Fortunately I wasn't in need of the camera for that time. Otherwise if I depended on it to make a living, susa liao!

lighting, lense, harddisk solution... Parts i am not too sure. but i think Pansonic can improve on accessories for their products. For technology, i think they are on par with sony, just in different focus. |

I think the best service a CE mfr can provide consumers is not to have us go to their service centre.

Not sure how long you used Sony stuff and services. I had use seven years of Sony's services and Panasonic for the last four years. Last few years when our PD150 start having white balance, iris and focusing problem and was sent to Sony for repair. Each time, each problem, we have to send in more than two times for the problem to be rectify. Intial times we sent the PD150 in and was told that it had no problem despite our account of how the problem was apparent. Each time, it took more than 3-4 week with us calling them constantly. Lucky, we have more than one PD150. Each time, we told there was no problem, we never saw the engineer.
My last four years was with Panasonic. Each time it took only 1-3day for the engineer to call me explaining the problem and cost of repair. Most of the time the engineer came out personally and explain to me personally to explain how and why. Usually repair took one week to two. |

Sony Pro section has no relation with their consumer sect. Yes Sony Pro sucks. That's why we switched to Panasonic 2 years ago.

Hmmm....So far I had no problem with Panasonic and Sony which I have been using since 1999. Sometimes when we send in our cams we have to tell them that its urgent or what we expect from them and they will do the best for us. So far they will call me to give an estimate cost of repair and even SMS me to notify me that my cams are ready for collection.
My worst experience was JVC ...I gave up on JVC products.....Last edited by GhostSG; 18th April 2007 at 01:49 AM. |
