In term of sharpness, even a 5x zoom Zeiss lens is still a Zeiss lens

Though not perfect, with distortion and vignetting at wide, but hopefully it's die to defect on that copy as mentioned by author.
David Kilpatrick also posted his own view on his lens at DPReview, may be with front focusing problem?
