Hey Vince those are awesome pictures! Actually I've already seen your go-karting series and was very impressed with the panning pics. But I didnt realise those were shot with the S6500 untill you posted them again here.

I recently got an S6500 for myself from a CS bro here. Been playing around a bit, but will put up some pics here once I take enough that are worthy

Thermal noise. Was the exposure held very long?

Try not to set the exposure to more than 10s.
It will solve the problem

S6500fd CCD is 1/1.7"
S5700 CCD is 1/2.5"

Which is better?

Trying to understand the difference.
