but that problem really doesn't affect usage... u still can use the filters normally...
what problems might the protruding ring cause?
if it juz looks ugly i dun mind.

that ring is normal. it is used to press the glass against the metal 'frame'. you can open 10 sets to your hearts content and most probably all 10 will see the same thing.

    BRO!~~

Hold on!! Today when i was going to the airport to take some pic then upon careful examination of my CLP, there was the same buldge that was seen in the picture taken by you..

Perhaps it's part of the design.

do remember to select and feather the sky.. u don't wanna have blue faces or trees in ur photo.. unless u're going for the surreal look....

    another way? replace the sky...

or, select the sky and adjust levels/curves...

front elemet of kit lens like canan ef-s 18-55 rotates when focusing... so its not advisable to use CPL...

dunnoe if any1 has mentioned this.

Best way to see the effect i find, is to:

find a pond (during a cloudy day, abit of sunlight)
look through view finder with the CPL on and aim at the pond and slowly turn the CPL.
you will find that at certain rotations you can see through the pond ! (no more reflection on the pond)

Actually you don't need one CPL for every lens... get one that suits the largest diameter opening of your lens (or future lenses that you aret thinking to get), then use it for your current lenses coupled with a step-up-ring...

e.g. your kit lens maybe a 62mm, and you may have or wanna get in future a 77mm opening lens, then buy a 77mm CPL, and a 62->77mm step up ring to use for your kit lens...

step-up-rings are definitely cheaper to get than getting CPL's for every size/lenses

    hope this helps
