Default Crossing to the dark side

Hi all,

Well ive decided to cross to dark side. i bought a k100d today.
To me the price was good and with the anti shake it was a done deal.
As i have still got my pentax lenses i'm now set. Value for money i believe.

Now i need to know from you guys that have one what u think.
I reckon i've made a wise choice.

Regards to all

I would think Pentax was the old republic, strong and powerful in its hey day but then declined and was overtaken by the dark side. Now led by Luke SkyPentax, C-3-K100 and R2D-K10, the jedi are fighting back ..

May the P-force be with you....always.

I declare Pentax as the "light" side, not dark or bright, because our gears have always been lighter than any of the competition!

Amateur astronomers like airconvent and me would very much keep away from all that light-pollution to enjoy our 'darkside' activities to the fullest

Even that huge telescope at Singapore Science Centre is a Pentax 'mirror lens' ...

LOL Thx Guys

Now when i get it in a couple of days, I've gotta learn how to drive this thing.

Now i have a 28-200 & 70-300 APO for my film cameras.
So with digital these become a 42-300 & 105-450 ??

Blair

You are mistaken, my young padawan. The light side means we are always trying to capture the faint light from faraway galaxies and nebulae!

should make it aussiepentaxboy. that way, when you succumb to temptation and move to a K10D, no need to change nick!

You're right about the "change" in your lens specs when you use the K100D.
But if you are like me, you will eventually find manual focus a pain to use for fast action (like kids jumping around) and opt for auto focus lenses..heh heh

Im lucky they are all A/F so my 70-300 APO is now a 105-450 WOW !!
Except one which is a 50ml Pentax A lens which shud meter no problem but manual focus only becomes a 75ml prime in digital terms.
Anyway it shud be del soon but i down loaded a user manual to have a look prior MAN !
the things you can do with these things compared to a film camera.
Maybe i'll keep it on auto for a while till i learn to drive the damm thing.

Regards

Blair
