Got to play around with this lens at the sony gallery and compared it to my new CZ 16-80 and the beercan.
Pros: BRIGHT lens!!! Sucks light like crazy!!! Cons: Purple fringing. I mean, really really noticeable, even at f/2.4. I tested it by shooting the alpha product brochures (the black and white ones). There was noticeable CA in all 135mm shots. The 16-80 did pretty well, and the beercan was great, almost no CA. But the pay so many $$$ for a purple monster is ridiculous. It's like the 828 lens, CA everywhere. |
