Default Some seaside insect?

Can someone identify what sort of insect is shown below? Crustacean maybe?

Plentiful on beaches, hides amongst dry rocks and in dead barnacle shells on rocks. Scurries away like cockroaches when something approaches.

Hmm, maybe this ought to be in "The world of macro" subforum given that here, mostly birds and mammals are presented and talked about... Moderators, please help to shift my thread to the correct subforum if necessary, thanks.
