Buy E-510 From B&H?

Hi ppl

Is it advisable to get the above from B&H? I find their prices are pretty attractive for some stuffs.

Well, I've bought a flash and Colorvision Spyder from them before and they were very responsive in processing the transaction. No problems.

Nearly bought the Zuiko 50-200mm from them at S$1450 (+GST, shipping) but I paid extra at S$1610 locally to totally avoid the risk of my precious len's box being roughly handled by shipping/postal personnel and having some delicate element of it knocked loose...

Your call on whether the price savings far outweight shipping risks but BH Photo should be one tip top reseller to deal with.

Hihi. Thanks for the feedback. By the way, when you mentioned that you paid GST for your Zuiko lens, was it our local GST?

The S$1450 I quoted was from the BH Photo listed price, added shipping, and adjusted to 1.05 x 1.57 to reflect both the GST Singapore customs will charge you, and the credit card USD-to-SGD conversion rate.

I am pretty sure the launch price for the E510 will be similar in singapore lah. not worth it to buy from B&S as the shipping and GST is qutie a lot. At least wait until the singapore pricing is announced.
