Need to know if the above lens is available in 4/3 mount, and if yes how's the performance in terms of value-for-$$$
Pretty sick of changing the kit-lenses and not to keen on the Oly 50-200 due to weight and cost factors. With the above and my ZD 11-22 believe should suffice Thanks |

I feel that the 40-150mm is a better fit for your 11-22mm and it is much cheaper as you can pick up one for $200 second hand. And the quality is better too.

This site lists all of the current (and announced future) lenses:
http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/oly-e/lenses.html The Sigma 18-200mm 3.5-6.3 lens isn't on the list, but the Olympus 18-180mm 3.5-6.3 is. The only thing is the it's a soft lens...the Sigma would probably be softer considering reports of other Sigma lenses on 4-3 since they are a compromise of a lens designed for other cameras with a 4/3 mount (some people believe that the 18-180mm is actually made by Sigma due to its quality and softness). By the way when you're at the Wrotniak site I mentioned, click on "Other Articles" for lots more great Olympus E-system info. (edit) Regarding the 40-150mm lens, if you don't own this lens it's a very good one considering it's a kit lens...it's sharper than the 18-180mm. Yes I do own the kit 40-150 lens.
Probably have to wait for the new 50-200 ZD lens notwithstanding the weight and $$ factors. |

if your problem is changing lens, might as well get a cheap 2nd hand body and mount both the 11-22 and 40-150mm. Better than getting a 18-200mm and still have to swop the 11-22mm when you need the wide angle. I think the price of a 2nd hand body is quite cheap nowadays.

Lugging around additional weight on top of the lenses. May get pretty heavy over long distance and time. Sorry to say there is a no win-win situation here. Anyway thanks for the advice. |

Me using the Sigma 55-200. Pretty soft in all range and dark. But then it sure beats lugging the Zuiko 50-200.
If you intend to shoot birds and fast moving cars, forget it. The 40-150 will beat it anytime. The extra 50 mm is nothing compared to the Zuiko anyway. I just added the EC14 to my collection, add that to the 40-150, then it's better then the sigma. Now only waiting for the 70-300 and a lighter 4/3 (with LiveView and no banding) camera to reach my shores.

No four-thirds mount for this lens.
