Default Prices of CF dropped

Prices of CF seems to be dropping drastically.
I checked out these prices last week:

4Gb Ultra II: $108 (Active Foto)
2Gb Extreme III: $80 (At some 5th level shop in Funan)

Anyone knows how much is a 4Gb Extreme III nowadays?
Thinking of getting one before I head back to US.

I will be heading down to Sim Lim later this afternoon. Will update you bro.
Between the Ultra II and Extreme III, is it worth spending the extra dough on the latter ?

Well, the extreme is supposingly able to work in cold temperatures.
Although it's spring now, I would like to use it during the long winter days.

So far, I have used my Ultra II in really cold temperatures... something like -20C and haven't faced any problems. If the prices between the Extreme and Ultra is slight, I'll go for the former.

Any confusion here? Extreme III and IV? So far, I only know E-IV works under sub-zero. Sorry, if I am wrong.

Both works in Extreme conditions with Extreme IV between -25 to 85C. Extreme III has 20 MB/sec (133X) and Extreme IV has 40 MB/s (266X). The price difference is between S$50 - S$60 for a 8GB capacity CF card.

If you can spend the $$$, go for the best.

maybe i didn't read up on the extreme weathers the cf cards can go through but do you really need the extra speed of the cf cards? does it really make like 100% difference between the ultra II ? and does it justify the cost. then again, if you have too much money to throw at them, just throw! hahaha. always go for the best but i always believe in justifying the cost of the products.

No point stocking up (there's no appreciation value). In no time, 4GB Extreme III will become at the current price of the 2GB Extreme III. Just buy what is sufficient for your usage.

Was in Sim Lim this afternoon. So crowded

Checked around a few stores. 4Gb Extreme III not in stock in every shot I went to.
2 Gb Extreme II was around 80 bucks in a couple of shops - didn't note their names.
Sorry, didn't ask for Ultra II.

BTW, I was also at Cathay Photo Marina Square. They are selling 2Gb Extreme III for 76 bucks. 4Gb Extreme III not in stock, but the salesman quoted me S$125.

I was wondering at the drop in CF card prices in the last 5 years. In April 2002, I had bought 128 Mb CF card for 115 bucks. Now you get 4 Gb for about the same price.

every electronic item always work this way. when there's a market for it, it would mass produce and definately push down the prices to make it affordable for everything. especially now that dslr are so cheap and everyone are just snapping them up. it's not surprising that cf cards have dropped so rapidly.

I'll go grab the 4Gb by next weekend. By the way, are you having the gold letterings or silver ones?
