Default Best Price for FX7?

Hi CSers, me thinking of getting a FX7. I've asked Expandore and they are quoting me $4700 odd including GST without warranty. Any recommended place to get FX7 for a good price?

Get the professional version with XLR inputs.

I believe Mustafa carries them but be sure to check that they have local warranty bec they do carry grey stuff also.

If you look on the right of the same URL you will see a link on the right, the pro version of the FX7 (HVRV1P) which is a 3 chip camera.

Budget lah! Plus, the widely discussed 'oil paint effect' in the 25p version is not solved yet, what's the point in paying $2k more on it if the differences in FX7 and V1E is the problematic progressive mode?

Sony's V1 is the FX7's big bro. About $6.5k. Unless HDV is what you want try Panasonic DVX 102B about $3.3k

Yes, HDV is exactly what I want and my budget only allows FX7. I just sold off my DVX100, no point having another DVX102. Anyone have any suggestion regarding where to get FX7 cheap??

Expandore is one of the cheapest around. Those guys in SLS are more expensive. Higher overheads. But be warned the FX1 and FX7 has lots of short comings besides the audio. This is Sony's way of dealing the seperation between the Pro cams and the prosumer stuff.

From the VX2000/2100 with the PD150/170, the FX1 and Z1, now the FX7 and V1.

Somehow, the picture quality seems to suffer a little in post. I tested a FX1 a few months ago. The video quality seems to give a flatness in looks and lacks sharpness. Maybe it's just that cam.

Thumbs up Re: Best Price for FX7?

Hi all pro user

I just got my FX7 from local shop. About $5K include GST and local warranty. Have test shot with both HDV 1080i and SD. Edit in Premiere Pro 2 and MAC OS X G5 [Not intel]. The picture are good as we seen on before capture. Using PP2 cine mode personnal setting and fine tune. Picture is much better than my VX2100.

Still picture capture in 1080i very good return on sharp pictures.
