newer flash is the HS(D) series. It is too advance that your 505si won't be able to support it.

Get the xi series, either the 3500xi or 5400xi. But only in 2nd hand. These models are faced out already.

Cool Flash for Minolta XTsi / 505si

Hi Eirik,
I am using my 505si with a Metz 34 AF as well as a Minolta 5400 HS flash.
I think you can also use the newest 3600 HS D as well as 5600 HS D flashes. The only thing you will not use is the D function.
I hope you realise that your camera is capable of High Speed Flash Sync. (Very creative effects can be achieved.)
Regards

Default 505si...Can use the Newer Flash

Hiee...

FYI,

The 505si......and even the 404si can use the newer flash and also can support the Wireless feature. I personnlay use the 404si and also the 505si with the wireless setup and it really gives good results....

Regards,
Sulhan
