k my first try at night photography (: comment please
![]() ![]() ![]() okay this picture aint really the supreme court, but it was taken beside it. ![]() AND LASTLY, ![]() does it look like a serious DUST infested sensor or ? im using a OLYMPUS E-500

Its not underexposed. Its just that there isn't enough ambient light to bring out building details further from the light sources. You see "floating lights". You can bring out the details with more exposure but at the expense of blowing out the portions nearer to the light sources. I suggest you shoot at an earlier timing. At this time of the year, you should getting decent ambient lighting around 7:15 to 7:45. Don't wait till the sky is comepletely dark. Good lighting is essential for streetscapes. You'll find that your pictures will improve drastically if you know the right time to click.

Have you spotted dust specks on a photo before? If you have, then you'd know that finding dust in a night photo is equally challenging as finding needle in a haystack.

Definitely underexposed. Not enough. Try f8 at 15 seconds with bracket +/- 0.3 exposures..then try f5.6 for 10 seconds again with bracket +/- 0.3 exposures and pick the best of outcomes...
