Default Classic Olympus 35 SP Rangefinder Needs Cleaning

Thanks for dropping by.

I've recently found an Olympus 35 SP Rangefinder that needs cleaning and a new battery, which I've come to find out is now obsolete(battery).

Please please if anyone knows a shop I can send it to I'm willing to take my chances and getting it clean and take it out for shooting.

It has a very good lens on it - definately worth cleaning. Cleaning should cost you less than $100. Had it done before for about $75.

As for the battery, you can still get them on Ebay - just do a search for PX625. Alternately, you can get a PX625/MR9 adaptor which converts a SR44 battery's 1.5V voltage to 1.35V and its size to that of the PX625.

Cam-X's repair guy comes highly recommended by many for these older cameras but I personally haven't used him before.

I've used Prime Camera and they have been fine.

Why don't you go to Olympus Singapore to get it serviced?
They are very nice and very patient.
I've brought in my old Gen 1 Olympus Mju to be repaired (shutter Jam) before and they can still fix and replace parts!

It's at the building next to Funan IT mall.

OM singapore dun entertain anything excpt the digital, dun waste your time there.

i had a bad experience with my OM4T service 2yr ago, they don't recognise their own promise of maintaining 10yr part and servicing, i had to go through OM Japan to get it done.

consider yourself lucky if they ever recognise the om35.

You probably have to get it from the States.
