Default AF-540FGZ diffuser

Since my gf refused to let me use DIY bounce-card or diffuser on my new AF540FGZ (cause need paste here & there ), I'll need to buy a commercial one. Anyone want to suggest a value for money diffuse system?

Is this good enough for a diffused flash?

All shots are raw resized.

EV +1

EV 0

looks good.

one thing thats been in my head, how does the 540 flash works when used in say aperture priority, 45 deg + diffuser? all auto?

then how about using a bounce card, 90 deg up the ceiling, auto too?

For 540 everything is auto. It communicate with the camera.

I make a F**p-it like bounce card with a twist to it.

I'm using the Sto-fen Omni-Bounce diffuser on my 540 flash. It works okay, not the best solution, but still better than without It's very easy to put on or off, and doesn't make the flash any bigger. You can leave it on all the time as you wish

CP has it for sale at fixed price: $30 each.

Here's a new test. Which light would you prefer?

K10D + Kit lens + AF-540FGZ

Av Mode RAW, f/5.6, ISO 100, Flash EV 0,
Photoshop exposure +2 (Due to Flash EV 0), resized 600x402

Thanks for taking the trouble. These are flash EV 0 right? Looks like lightsphere is much better, as lesser shadow is being casted. Stofen is brighter & has brighter range. But in term of cost, think stofen more worth it. Maybe I'll get a stofen for events and use my DIYs for normal. (Still prefer my DIY but appearance wise need something commercial )
