I am looking at buying one of the basic dvd camcorder. Reason being that I am not a very IT savy person in doing all the conversion of video. Thus I skip the mini-dv models. Thought having a dvd camcorder will be a easiler option as the video can be drag and drop into my pc. I perception will be that I just have a put the mini dvd disc into my computer. Drag and drop the video file to my computer and burn the video out onto CDR or DVDR using Nero. Besides this, is there anything extra that I missed out or I might need? Pls advice. Budget is about 1K. Preferred it comes with night mode. Ease of use.

You cannot drag and drop DVD files into your PC. Its encoded as DVD Mpeg 2. You want drag and drop try HDD cams. JVC Everio is very good.
