i am using Cs2 and i am satisfied with it.

Cs2 or Cs3. simply over hype issue. for those who face PS the entire day like me will know what i mean. i mean even if you give me Cs to work. things will get done eventually.

newest and best software is useless if you cant understand the software's basic fundamentals actually.

Adobe CS 3.0 bundles have been revealed. Check them here (easy reference table at end of page): http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2596

Adobe Systems Inc. will announce Tuesday that its highly-anticipated Creative Suite 3.0 software suite will be available in six distinct bundles with European pricing ranging from €999 to €2799.

- Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 Design Standard
- Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 Design Premium
- Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 Web Standard
- Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 Web Premium
- Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 Production Premium
- Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 Master Collection

There are two versions of PS, depending on which bundle you get. The "Premium" bundles will spot PS CS 3.0 Extended, while the "Standard" bundles will spot PS CS 3.0.

PS: I'm still using PS CS (1.0) too haha.

Thanks for the headsup bro! I'm using a MacBook Pro (Intel), so the past versions of CS slow my system down (due to the PowerPC emulation software that is spawned in the background). Would love to use CS3, if not for the $$$, sighh...

The only thing that matters with buying software is whether they can help you finish your work in the least possible amount of time, cost effectively.

I'm using the beta at the moment and the advantages are obvious. Bigger graphs for levels and curves make for better control. Better presets for channel mixing also help b/w conversion. Allows me to fine tune from a preset. Most importantly, the RAW convertor is at least as good as Capture one if not better. Thats one of the biggest pluses for me. The increased amount of control. I mirror what glennyong says about knowing your basics, but once u know them, then i think CS3 will really allow your to improve your workflow.

to see what's new in CS3, visit the following link and look for a pdf that discribes all the new features...feature list has been out since last year...

http://www.photoshopforphotographers...otoshopcs3.htm

two things I can think of at the moment that are a great benefit for DI work in CS2 that wasn't in CS are the warp function and more control in 16bit images...

some things I'm looking forward to in CS3 are the new curves tool where one can adjust all the curves from a single window and also adjust levels here too, the new photomerge, more usable smart objects with smart filters, selection refinement tool, and a better Bridge...

of course, again, its no point having better tools if you don't know how to use them...and 80-90% of the time I only use clone, stamp, levels, curves, HSE...

check out the price form the US store, there is a huge different.
Oh, as for the BIG asia market of which adobe heavily depend on they offered us this http://adobe.resonance.com.sg/cs3/index.htm. the musketeers look more like an insult to the asia market.

Let's hope Amazon's pricing is more reasonable. If so, I don't mind ordering it direct from Amazon together with a few other books.
