Default First Macro Post

Okay, I've been practising some macros but never posted my pictures here.
These are some pictures I took this afternoon at SBG.
Taken using a D70S, Tokina 100mm, and SB-800.
Brought along my tripod but setting it up took too much time.
So all the pictures you see here were handheld.
I would appreciate it if you, macro experts or otherwise, could give me some feedback and help me improve.
Thanks for viewing.

Very nice series!

Focus on the eyes are right, though flash is slightly harsh. Are you using a diffused flash?
Background is nice too.

Thanks for the comments.
I had the diffusion dome on my flash head all the time.
But still I find it a little harsh, like what you said.
I was using it at about -1 to -2 EV on the flash.
Even tilted up the head at an angle for some shots.
I don't normally use flash except for macros so any kind of help to make it look just right would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Maybe can try using a bounce card + tilt the head more?
