Sony Camera repair?

Hey everyone, pretty new around here, but have been reading more often nowadays.

Recently my Sony P-72 stopped working suddenly. Everything the shutter is depressed nothing happens - I was told by Sony Service there was something wrong with the switch block, replacing it would cost 50 bucks + 80 bucks labour, and that doesn't seem very worth it for a 3MP compact.

Does anyone know anywhere else I can get it serviced or has a recommendation for a 2nd hand compact?

For these little cameras, it is impossible to find another company willing and able to repair it... most of the internal parts are modular and are meant to be replaced... and that means other than Sony, it is unlikely that anyone else has parts that fit unless it is not proprietary... which is also unlikely... just get another camera lor... there are some very cheap ones that perform well...

Agreed with bro TME. Its simply not worth the $ for a repair. Might as well get a 2nd hand from the buy sell thread here in CS.

I have a P71 if you need a 2nd hand... let you have it cheap...
