Default Gelatin filter on Sigma 8mm f/4 on D70 only BW IR?

I just tried a piece of Lee Gelatin IR filter 87 on my Sigma 8mm f/4 FE lens with D70, and I get only black and white IR photos?

I thought someone said it was polyester, not gelatin?

I think yeah, should be B&W, was mentioned before?

What's the model/name of the filter? =D
Can google it up, I 'm sure there'd be discussion somewhere. IR is quite popular after all. =D

Lee #87 is a much stronger filter than Hoya R72.
More visible light are blocked off thus the end effect is close to b/w.

Check with Vortex. He had a gelatin filter some time back. Sort of a deep red filter. But have to purchase online iirc.

That one is the Ilford SFX200. Results almost like the Cokin P007.

As both these IR filters are lighter than most other filters they allow more visible light to pass through.

Results will be more saturated colors, especially blue for the sky. Depending on your workflow you can vary your results.

Here's a pic shot with the Cokin P007
