Hi,
Prefer my Nikkor AF 80-200 f2.8D ED. Only a bit more than the Sigma. Obviously the AF-S is a different story altogether. ![]() Regards CK |

I wonder if the Sigma is HSM lens. If not...then I prefer OEM lens.

All those 80-200 AF-S owners all probably going to upgrade to the 'VR' version so just wait for the 2nd hand market

sold my nikon 80-200 f2.8 (push-pull) to get the sigma 80-200 f2.8. compared the 2 lens at aperture wide open and found the nikon one looks flat and the sigma is still looks quite good at 8R.
but is if its the tripod version or the AFS, then its a different story. |

i tried a sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM version on a canon EOS300 and it was fast and silent. tried the tokina 80-200/2.8 on my D100 but it was rather slow and noisy...
never had a chance to try either the 80-200/2.8 AF-n or AF-S doubt i'd ever have the chance to own the 80-200AFS or 70-200VR so i'll just settle for the sigma HSM when i decide to get something in that focal range. actually wanted to get the tokina one all along coz of its build... but after trying it at CP that day... ![]() |
