Faulty F717 worth fixing?

Hi new here.

My F717 had a problem the other day and im not sure what it is but here is the example picture

It looks like that on the LCD screen as well so im guessing something is totally stuffed and i need to get it repaired.

Only question is, does anyone know if its even worth fixing or issit a simple lose wire somewhere?

It worked again the next few days when i turned it on but now it seems to stay like that for now. Movies are the same by the way and yes ive tried all different modes.

as with all modern day electronics, its prone to wear & tear as well as obsolete & depreciation.

so if a 2nd hand F717 is worth about 500, repair cost is 200, u think its worth it? image u solved 1 problem, then 1 week later another problem arise... what will you do?

worth is up to you to decide... if its me, unless it got sentimental value, i'll just either keep in the drybox or throw, and i'll probably get a new camera.

yeah i was thinking bout buying a new camera but im not really sure if its worth spending another $500US again since ive only had this camera for less than 2years.

According to that link you posted its only for Sony UK?

Can call up the service centre and check with them if it's also applicable here.

iirc, its worldwide, over here there is also a service recall.

U're covered by this recall... it's was a CCD manufacturing fault... was a big hooha cos it affected a lot of consumer digital camera brands who bought sensors from SONY...

If my CCD has not given me problem yet, can I still go get it changed?

And is there a way to find out if my 2nd hand one has it changed liao?
